Patient directive

The establishment of a living will is important for our clients who want to decide on examinations and treatments themselves. This also applies if they themselves are no longer responsive or capable of making decisions at the time of treatment. According to the German Civil Code (§ 1901 a paragraph 1), a living will is defined as a written statement for adults. The living will specifies whether you agree to examinations, medical treatments or medical interventions that are not imminent. As a lawyer, we recommend that our clients confirm a living will annually. This gives you the opportunity to check whether the regulations made should continue to apply or whether they need to be changed. Legal questions about living wills?
